Spring 2020 Update

As we face the challenge of dealing with COVID-19 in our community, we want to share with you what we are doing here at Ego’s and assure you that we are continuing to grow and take care of the plants, flowers, herbs and vegetables that we will be looking forward to later this spring and summer.

The health and wellbeing of our team members, our customers, and our community is top of mind.  We are usually gearing up for opening our doors and welcoming you to our greenhouses and nursery the first of April, however this year we are looking for responsible alternatives.  For at least the next few weeks and possibly longer, our market shop and garden centre will be closed to walk-in traffic.  We ask that you contact us by email (info@egosgardencentre.com) or phone (705-326-9922) during this time.

We still take to heart our mission to connect people and plants, and with that in mind, we are working hard to enable new initiatives for the interim:  Online shopping for products and plants as they are available with scheduled pick-up in our parking lot (aka curb-side pickup) or local delivery.  Please be patient with us as we work out some wrinkles!  Some of you have already sent us list of plants you would like for later... we thank you for your continued support!  We will be posting an order form online shortly to let you know what will be available for this season.

Gardening at home is a therapy of choice for many of you and can provide an important connection with nature both indoors and outside in these uncertain times.  We will do our best to help you get the plants, seeds, soils etc that you need this spring for your own gardens.

For those of you craving a peek into our greenhouses, we will post regular pictures and videos on our social media channels and website to let you see how things are growing.  We know from your feedback that our greenhouses are a “happy place” for many of you and we regret that we are not able to safely allow visitors to wonder the aisles of plants at this stressful time.

While many activities and events have been postponed or cancelled, Spring is not one of them!

We will continue to plant crops both in the greenhouse and in the fields.  Farming is not cancelled. Gardening is not cancelled.  We will continue to grow.

Stay safe and healthy.  We are all in this together.  Our community and mutual support are more important than ever.
